Psychological Services– What and Why

More and more, society is coming to realise that Emotional intelligence (EQ) is at least as important as general intelligence (IQ) in its impact on personal and professional effectiveness. So developing personally is gaining credence as a real factor in professional and organisational effectiveness. Defining and then working to develop peoples’ EQ focuses on not only the behavioural patterns we have, but the thinking that underpins them.

Since its foundation in 1994, AC Psychological Services has partnered with clients in a wide range of business sectors. We assist our clients to build competitive advantage by providing quality organisational psychology consulting services, to assess and develop people and build constructive and effective workplaces.

AC Psychological Services consulting services and products are part of an integrated 5 phase process. This includes defining and measuring successful performance, the competencies and interpersonal skills needed to achieve it, and assisting in the development of constructive and effective skills and abilities at the individual, team, and organisational level.

Using a combination of AC developed models and other diagnostic tools, and a client-centred, solution-focused and skills-based process, AC Psychological Services can assist people to identify the root causes of their less effective thinking processes which impact on their professional effectiveness, personal life and health.

Psychological Services– How

1. Understand

2. Measure

AC Psychological Services will tailor the process to meet your needs and leverage any existing metrics to assist in the development of the individual/team. In this phase we will agree targeted changes to the individual’s, business unit or organisation’s KPIs and utilise appropriate processes. Some examples would include:
  1. 360 degree feedback tool (LSI) for measurement of personal and leadership effectiveness
  2. Psychometric and personality assessments (IQ, verbal and numerical reasoning, critical reasoning etc)
  3. Team effectiveness tools (GSI, MBTI, DiSC etc)

4. Coach

AC will tailor our coaching or counselling to achieve the targeted KPIs.

  1. AC SMART Action Plan review, and appropriate coaching models to provide rigor, clarity and cohesiveness
  2. Coaching to proactively identify individual/team blind spots and provide objective feedback as the individual/team develops
  3. Coaching or counselling to support and cement cognitive and behavioural change
  4. Provide Status Reports on progress at agreed intervals to benchmark and then measure progress, during the coaching.

3. Workshop

Following assessment, AC will tailor our services to develop the individual and team to achieve the targeted goals.
  1. Feedback results of the 360 assessment to the individual (and as appropriate, their manager), and develop action plans for the coaching or counselling process
  2. Feedback results of psychometric and psychological assessment to the client, and the candidate (successful and unsuccessful)
  3. Define current character and skills and explore plans for developing more constructive character
  4. Develop leadership/management skills from the Blue Tool Box© (as appropriate)
  5. Strategise and develop individual and/or team SMART action plans to improve effectiveness
5. Re-measure

Re-measurement of personal/team effectiveness to gauge development (various methodologies used)
